Where you can use it
Garden rooms and offices, summerhouses, sheds and workshops, bin and bike stores, planters, existing garden walls on battens, and low-rise extensions after checking with building control. Composite cladding is combustible, we do not currently publish a reaction-to-fire class for it, and it cannot be used on the external walls of residential buildings with a storey 11 m or more above ground, or on relevant buildings 18 m or taller (Regulation 7(2) and Approved Document B, England); rules are stricter within 1 m of a boundary. Check with your building control body before you clad any part of a house, and with your local planning authority in a conservation area or for a listed building.
